Hugo Lacroix has served as Superintendent, Securities Markets since November 2019. He had been acting as Interim Superintendent since January 2019.
As Superintendent, he leads and mobilizes a team of some 100 employees who oversee and supervise derivatives, corporate finance transactions, investment funds and market structures in Québec.
His management approach is open, energetic and accountability-based. He shares his principles of integrity and transparency in order to foster team spirit that is conducive to achieving ambitious projects supporting the AMF’s strategic orientations.
M. Lacroix joined the AMF in September 2011 as an investment fund analyst. He went on to head the Case Assessment and Cybersurveillance division before being appointed Senior Director, Investment Funds.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws and is a member of the Québec Bar. He began his career as legal counsel and chief compliance officer at various financial institutions and asset management firms. This experience fostered his sense of business ethics, which he honed by obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Applied Ethics.
