As a public body, the Autorité des marchés financiers (the “AMF”) is governed by An Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, CQLR c. A-2.1 This link will open in a new window, also known as the Access to Information Act.

If you would like access to information which is not available on our website or personal information concerning you held by the AMF, you can apply to the AMF's access officer whose contact information is given below.

The Access to Information Act This link will open in a new window recognizes the rights of citizens, in addition to the right to access documents and personal information concerning them, to request that such information be corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal, or if the collection, release or keeping of the information is not authorized by law.

Inventory of personal information files

The AMF keeps an up-to-date inventory of its personal information files established under section 76 of the Access to Information Act This link will open in a new window.

Register of releases of personal information

The AMF keeps an up-to-date register of every release of personal information without the consent of the person concerned in accordance with section 67.3 of the Access to Information Act This link will open in a new window.

Like any other public body, the AMF may release personal information without the consent of the person concerned if the release is necessary for the enforcement of its constituting Act, laws under its purview and the Access to Information Act This link will open in a new window.

The AMF processes applications for access submitted to it under the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information This link will open in a new window.

Each year, the Access Officer responds to over 200 applications, mainly related to the information in the file of the person applying for access. In the case of other applications not concerning a specific matter or the application of laws (investigations, inspections, lawsuits), the documents sent pertaining to issues related to AMF mandates and containing complete information are posted in this section, together with the Access Officer's decision.
