Mario Cusson has extensive experience in managing large financial institutions, including as President of AGA Financial Group and Executive Vice-President, Group Insurance, of La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services, from 2007 to 2012; Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of L’Unique General Insurance, from 2012 to 2018; and, most recently, Chief Transformation Officer of La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services, from 2018 to 2020.

During his career, Mr. Cusson has managed a wide range of areas within the organizations he has worked for, including operations, sales, finance, human resources, information technology, client service, quality assurance and administration. He has also served as a corporate director for many damage insurance brokerage firms, financial institutions and SMEs.

A chartered accountant by training, Mr. Cusson holds a Master of Business Administration from the Université de Sherbrooke and is a member of CPA Canada and the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. Mr. Cusson holds the ASC (certified corporate director) from the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés.

Mr. Cusson was appointed to the Advisory Board on May 11, 2021 for a three-year period.

Further to assent being given on December 8, 2021 to the Act to amend various legislative provisions mainly with respect to the financial sector, which created a board of directors within the AMF and abolished the Conseil consultatif de régie administrative (Advisory Board), Mr. Cusson will continue in office as a member of the board of directors for the remainder of his term.
