This deposit protection is automatic and doesn’t cost you anything.

In Québec, your eligible deposits made with authorized deposit institutions are protected by the AMF. Your deposits are protected up to a maximum of $100,000 per category of deposit, per authorized deposit institution, including principal and accrued interest.
