Representation rules
Complying with your obligations when communicating with clients.
The AMF has developed a guide in plain-language to help you see more clearly the rules of permitted representations .
You learn more about:
- Mandatory information for your first meeting with a client in person or other than in person;
- Mandatory titles for representatives;
- Other information that may be indicated in representations;
- Special cases;
- Training and diplomas permitted to use.
You start making representations the moment you introduce yourself as a representative or registrant when carrying on your activities. Representations are made not only to clients who buy products or services but to potential clients, as well.

Examples are also available in this Guide (pdf - 2 MB)This link will open in a new windowUpdated on May 2, 2022.
