A contingency fund administers and manages a fund to protect, subject to certain limits, eligible investors who have suffered financial harm.
This section lists current decisions pertaining to acceptance of an entity as a contingency fund, as well as amendments to, or the application of, such decisions. All other decisions are available in the AMF Bulletin.
The Autorité des marchés financiers, along with Canada’s other provincial and territorial securities regulators, accepted/approved the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) effective January 1, 2023. CIPF is the amalgamated entity combining the former Canadian Investor Protection Fund and the MFDA Investor Protection Corporation.
