Candidates who hold an authorization equivalent to an AMF-issued representative's certificate in the sector or a sector class of damage insurance from another province or territory of Canada must complete the steps below before applying for a representative’s certificate.

Steps

Various minimum qualifications are accepted for entry into a career in damage insurance in Québec.

If you hold an authorization to practise in damage insurance from another province or territory of Canada that is considered equivalent to the AMF-issued certificate, you are exempt from the minimum qualifications.

Refer to the application form for other submission methods. and attach the following document:

  • Your authorization to practise, issued by the regulator of another province or territory of Canada.
    See the system of reference below to verify that your authorization is equivalent to an AMF-issued certificate. Only equivalent authorizations are recognized.

Once your application for recognition has been reviewed, the AMF will send you a communication informing you whether it has been allowed or denied and outlining the next steps.

Important! Your authorization to practise is not equivalent to an AMF-issued certificate if it is restricted or subject to a supervision condition. You must meet the same qualification requirements as Québec candidates.
