The AMF and the Montréal, Montérégie, Côte-Nord, Outaouais, Centre-du-Québec, Mauricie, Laurentides, Laval, Estrie, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Lanaudière and Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine Crime Victims Assistance Centre This link will open in a new window (CAVAC) have signed an agreement in an effort to break the isolation of victims of financial crime and help them regain control over their lives.

The agreement sets up a protocol to enhance the support offered to victims of financial crime who turn to the AMF by allowing staff to refer them directly to CAVAC. CAVAC caseworkers are trained to offer front-line “psycho-socio-legal” services to victims of financial crime.

CAVAC services are free of charge and confidential and they are available to victims who seek support, whether or not the perpetrator is identified, apprehended, prosecuted or convicted.

Through its rapid response, Montréal CAVAC meets the particular needs of persons of all ages who are crime victims or witnesses and their families.
