Non-compliance with Freeze Order - Réal Samson and Suzanne Labrecque fined

Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders Securities

Montréal - On May 23, 2012, Justice of the Peace Nicole Martin of the Court of Québec, district of Québec City, ordered Réal Samson and his spouse, Suzanne Labrecque, to pay fines totalling $14,000 after being convicted of contravening a freeze order issued by the Bureau de décision et de révision ("BDR") by selling two motorcycles.

Réal Samson and Suzanne Labrecque are both the subject of a decision by the BDR handed down in June 2009 ordering them not to dispose of the funds, securities or other assets they have on deposit, under their control or in safekeeping belonging to them directly or indirectly and derived in particular from the sale of a residential building. They nonetheless sold their motorcycles in October 2009 in breach of the June 2009 freeze order.

Réal Samson is the subject of another penal proceeding instituted in the fall of 2009. His trial is scheduled for September 2012.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
