Services financiers RSL inc. - AMF launches suit against Réal Samson and Suzanne Labrecque
Securities
Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") has launched a penal proceeding against Réal Samson and Suzanne Labrecque in the Court of Québec (Criminal and Penal Division), district of Québec City, and is seeking $14,000 in fines.
A freeze order was issued against Réal Samson and Suzanne Labrecque in June 2009 whereby they were ordered not to dispose of funds or other assets. However, it is alleged that they recently sold some of their assets, thereby violating the Securities Act. The AMF has therefore decided to launch a penal proceeding and is seeking a fine of $7,000 against each.
In September 2009, the AMF launched a penal proceeding against Réal Samson consisting of 54 counts for which it is seeking a prison term and fines totalling $348,000.
The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
