Illegal receipt of a commission - Claude Sicotte guilty

Montréal - On October 27, 2014, Judge Jean-Georges Laliberté of the Court of Québec rejected a third motion for revocation presented by Claude Sicotte. This rejection confirms the fine of $30,000 imposed after the third trial, held on July 15, 2014 before Judge Danielle Michaud, Justice of the Peace of the Court of Québec, district of Laval, during which Claude Sicotte was found guilty of illegally receiving a commission in connection with the sale of a financial product.

Motions for revocation were filed following the first two trials by default in this matter. The first motion was accepted; the second was rejected. The guilty verdict handed down in 2012 was appealed in Superior Court. The judge ordered a third trial so that Claude Sicotte could present a defence.
