Montréal – In a decision handed down on November 25, 2010, Judge Gaby Dumas, Justice of the Peace of the Court of Québec, district of Laval, accepted a motion for revocation of a judgment with respect to Claude Sicotte. As a result, Claude Sicotte will stand a new trial.

The previous judgment, rendered on September 24, 2010, by Judge DuPerron Roy, Justice of the Peace of the Court of Québec, district of Laval, was revoked. The sentence had been handed down in the absence of the defendant and the lawsuit served by way of publications in newspapers in March 2010.

The AMF alleges that Claude Sicotte illegally received a commission in connection with the sale of a financial product or the provision of a financial service.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
