Warning - AMF cautions about solicitations by Select Capital Ventures SA

Montréal - The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") is urging investors to be cautious when dealing with Select Capital Ventures SA and its so-called representatives, including Neil Reid. This company has purportedly contacted foreign investors to offer to redeem their shares of companies that are no longer listed for trading.

We are unaware at this stage whether Québec investors have been targeted by Select Capital Ventures SA. However, the company's website indicates that its civic address is in Montréal but this address does not exist. This company is not registered with the AMF to carry on business as a securities dealer or adviser and therefore cannot solicit investors in Québec.

During the past few months, several European authorities have repeated the warning This link will open in a new window issued by the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority.

Advice for investors

The AMF reminds investors about the importance of ensuring that firms and individuals offering to act as intermediaries have the necessary approvals by checking the Register of firms and individuals authorized to practise.
