Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sylvain Théberge as AMF spokesperson.

A well-known communications and journalism professional, Mr. Théberge served until recently as Strategic Advisor, Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, subsequent to joining the corporation in 2003 as Strategic Advisor, Communications and Media Relations.

Previously, Mr. Théberge held various positions at several Québec radio stations, including Chief Assignment Editor and Head of Information and Public Affairs at CKAC-Radiomédia from 1999 to 2003. He was also the station's Québec National Assembly reporter for nearly 10 years.

Mr. Théberge is recognized for his professionalism and analytical skills. He will assume his new duties on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
