Réal Forest Pleads Guilty

Montréal – Réal Forest pleaded guilty yesterday to eight counts brought against him by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). Judge Ronald Dudemaine of the Court of Québec (Criminal and Penal Division), in the judicial district of Richelieu, will hand down his sentence on July 18.

Mr. Forest was accused of having assisted, through an act or omission, 9059-6073 Québec inc. (Logi-Tech) with the distribution of a form of investment subject to the Securities Act without having a prospectus approved by the Commission des valeurs mobilières du Québec (now the AMF).

As well, Mr. Forest was accused of carrying on business as a securities dealer without being registered as such with the AMF.

The Autorité des marchés financiers is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
