Prohibitions and penalties against Jean-Paul Karcz

Securities Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

Montréal - On August 4, 2015, at the request of the Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF"), the Bureau de décision et de révision (the "Bureau") imposed an $8,000 fine and issued several orders against Jean-Paul Karcz, a former financial market professional who pursued activities as an on-line securities adviser without being registered to do so with the AMF.

Mr. Karcz ran a website promoting exchange-traded funds through which he offered investors professional services, on-line training and investment advice. The orders issued by the Bureau prohibit Jean-Paul Karcz from pursuing activities as a securities adviser and carrying out any transaction in securities, other than trading in his own account. He must also remove any web content relating to and promoting such activities.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
