Solicitation on the Internet - Caution when dealing with Jean-Paul Karcz

Investor warnings - News

Montréal - The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") is warning Québec consumers about the activities Jean-Paul Karcz is conducting through various websites and Internet ads promoting trading platforms and offering advice to Québec investors.

Jean-Paul Karcz is not registered with the AMF and is therefore not authorized to solicit or advise Québec consumers for investment purposes. However, he allegedly has offered and is still offering investing advice through Internet ads without being registered with the AMF.

To ensure compliance with the law and protect the public, the AMF has asked the Bureau de décision et de révision (the "Bureau") to order Jean-Paul Karcz to cease these activities and withdraw any content relating to the activity of an adviser from any websites he might be operating. The AMF has also asked the Bureau to impose administrative penalties against him.

Jean-Paul Karcz was registered as a securities representative with an unrestricted practice from 2007 to 2009 and as a dealing representative from 2009 to 2012.
