Montréal - On October 28, 2011, Judge Johanne White, Justice of the Peace of the Court of Québec, district of Montréal, ordered Cabinet de gestion privée Aureus and its responsible officer Suzanne Brassard, to pay fines totalling $20,000, double the minimum fine set out in the Securities Act.

The firm 9061-1641 Québec inc., operating under the name Cabinet de gestion privée Aureus, and its responsible officer Suzanne Brassard, both pleaded guilty to the two charges brought against them by the Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF), which accused them of filing and aiding the firm to file misrepresentations with the AMF with respect to the firm's liability insurance in February 2010.

The registration of 9061-1641 Québec inc., operating under the name Cabinet de gestion privée Aureus, in the sectors of insurance of persons and group insurance of persons was cancelled on February 23, 2011, and Suzanne Brassard has not held a valid certificate to practice in insurance of persons since October 1, 2008.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial industry.
