Moratorium on Examination in Personal-Lines Damage Insurance

Insurance

Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers is imposing a temporary moratorium on one of its examinations, namely, examination 03-601 “Providing customer service in personal-lines insurance: underwriting and rate-making.”

The decision stems from recent consultations with various damage insurance parties (association of trainers, training agencies, insurers, etc.) and is part of the AMF’s efforts to update its examinations and manuals.

For the duration of the moratorium, candidates who are already registered or who will register for examinations related to the damage insurance sector or the personal-lines damage insurance sector class will therefore not be required to write the examination for the purpose of applying for training attestation. As well, candidates registered for a supplemental examination will not be required to rewrite the examination for the purpose of applying for training attestation. Finally, candidates registered in the Work-Study Learning Program (WSLP) will not be required to provide evidence of passing the course or pass the examination for the purpose of making a third application for attestation of clerkship.

The AMF will notify its clients when examination 03-601 is resumed.

The AMF is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
