Jonathan Awde fined

Securities

Montréal - On September 2, 2014, Judge Robert Sansfaçon of the Court of Québec found Jonathan Awde, an insider at Northern Star Mining Corp., guilty on 11 charges of failure to file insider reports within the prescribed time period. He was ordered to pay a fine of $46,000.

The AMF accused Jonathan Awde of failing on eleven occasions to file reports on the changes in his control over securities of Northern Star Mining Corp., a reporting issuer, within the prescribed time period. For one of the transactions, the report was filed over one year late.

Reminder to insiders
The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") reminds insiders that they have five days to report their transactions using the System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI) and that it will take the appropriate steps against insiders who repeatedly file their reports late, including by taking penal proceedings against them. An insider who does not file his report on time commits a serious offence by depriving investors of information which could influence their investment decision.

The Autorité des marchés financiers is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
