Jean-Claude Morin pleads guilty
Securities Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders
Montréal - On February 9, 2015, Judge Robert Lanctôt of the Court of Québec, district of Saint-Hyacinthe, approved an agreement whereby Jean-Claude Morin was fined $330,000 after pleading guilty to one count of pursuing illegal activities as a dealer without being registered with the Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF").
More specifically, Jean-Claude Morin admitted to pursuing illegal activities as a securities dealer in dealings with an investor over a period of 330 days during which time the investor incurred losses totalling $212,800.
The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
