Jacques Pageau fined $5,000

Securities Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

Montréal - On February 25, 2016, in the judicial district of Longueuil, Justice of the Peace Robert Lanctôt ordered Jacques Pageau to pay a fine in the amount of $5,000.

The sentence is further to a guilty plea entered by Jacques Pageau on January 25, 2016 for an offence under the Securities Act. He engaged in a transaction or series of transactions in securities for the purpose of creating or contributing to a misleading appearance of trading activity in, or an artificial price for, a security.

After reviewing the aggravating factors (warnings and seriousness of the offence) and the mitigating factors (guilty plea and lack of bad faith), Judge Lanctôt determined that the minimum fine of $5,000 was appropriate.
