Freeze order extended against Cogetax

Montréal – In a decision issued on February 2, 2007, the Bureau de décision et de révision en valeurs mobilières (BDRVM) extended for a period of 90 days the freeze order that had been issued against Cogetax, Yvon Laroche and Jean-François Laroche.

On February 10, 2006, the BDRVM issued a freeze order against these respondents in connection with distributions made without obtaining a receipt from the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) for a prospectus in accordance with section 11 of the Securities Act and without being registered with the AMF as a securities dealer or adviser, thereby violating section 148 of the Act. The BDRVM had extended the freeze order on May 11, 2006, August 1, 2006 and November 7, 2006.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
