According to the AMF investigation, the respondents used social media to encourage the public to trade on FOREX, in particular through a Facebook page titled "Jerrypetersonlavoile." It should be noted that the respondents are not registered with the AMF as securities or derivatives dealers.
The AMF is particularly concerned that the funds invested by the public through the respondents may be lost.
The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
