AMF reaches agreement with SécuriGlobe Inc.

Organization Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) announced that it has reached an agreement with SécuriGlobe, whereby the firm undertakes to strengthen the supervisory and monitoring responsibilities imposed on it under the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services, R.S.Q. c. D-9.2.

SécuriGobe and its officers were made more keenly aware of the issues raised by the AMF, and the AMF considers that SécuriGlobe has taken the necessary measures to ensure that its personnel, officers and directors can adequately and prudently manage any situation that would otherwise again require similar intervention by the AMF.

Specifically, SécuriGlobe has agreed to step up supervision of communications and representations intended for consumers.

The compliance process implemented by SécuriGobe is designed to better protect the public interests.

Under the agreement, SécuriGlobe will pay the AMF $10,000 to reimburse investigation costs in particular.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
