AMF official elected to IADI Executive Council
Deposit Insurance Organization
Montréal - The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") is pleased to announce that Patrick Déry, AMF Superintendent, Solvency, was elected to the Executive Council of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) at the 15th IADI Annual General Meeting.
"The election of our colleague to the Executive Council of this important international organization is splendid recognition by his peers," said Louis Morisset, President and Chief Executive Officer of the AMF. "Expertise developed at the AMF, particularly with respect to financial cooperatives, is of keen interest to this organization, which formulates international principles for resolution and deposit insurance matters."
"This election also stems from our ongoing participation in several IADI bodies for a number of years now. This has allowed us to share strategies and has given us access to best practices adopted in other jurisdictions," noted Mr. Déry, who noted in particular the Committee on Resolution Issues for Financial Cooperatives that has been chaired by the AMF since its inception in 2014.
Earlier this year, the AMF was selected to host IADI's 16th Annual General Meeting, which will take place in Québec City from October 8 to 13, 2017.
