Montréal – At the request of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the Bureau de décision et de révision en valeurs mobilières (BDRVM) issued a freeze order on August 3, 2005 against Fonds de placement Excellence and Placements « Parts » Excellence inc. In its decision, the BDRVM also ordered a Bank of Montreal branch in Québec City not to dispose of the targeted funds.
These conservatory measures are intended to protect investors while the AMF carries out its investigation into the activities of Fonds de placement Excellence and Placements « Parts » Excellence inc.
The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
