Montréal – Further to the success achieved at Rendez-vous with the AMF in November 2006, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is pleased to announce that the second edition of this event will take place on October 15, 2007 at the Palais des congrès in Montréal. As part of this one-day annual meeting between the AMF and Québec financial market participants, a number of prominent speakers have been invited to exchange ideas on the issues and challenges facing the financial sector as well as talk about possible solutions designed to enhance investor protection.

AMF senior managers along with industry professionals will be discussing corporate governance practices, the issue of banking-insurance services and the proposed establishment of a single securities commission in Canada.

Guest speakers will include:

• Ms. Monique Jérôme-Forget, Québec Minister of Finance and Chair of the Conseil du Trésor, at the conference lunch;
• Mr. Ethiopis Tarafa, Director of the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, opening presentation;
• Mr. Jean St-Gelais, AMF President and CEO, at the opening and closing plenary sessions.

Last year, over 300 persons took part in the first edition of Rendez-vous with the AMF, which highlighted AMF activities related to regulatory and compliance matters as well as trends and issues impacting financial services around the world.
