Use of privileged information - Véronique Jallabert pleads guilty

Montréal - On January 14, 2013, Véronique Jallabert pleaded guilty before the Court of Québec to trading in securities of Pebercan inc. between January 12 and 21, 2009 while she had privileged information about the issuer. The Defendant made a profit of just under $7,000 through the sale of a total of 19,000 shares of the company. Following joint representations, the Defendant was ordered to pay $30,000, just over double the minimum fine.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
