Transaction based on privileged information - Jacques Gauthier fined $9,000

Montréal - The Bureau de décision et de révision recently approved a joint recommendation whereby Jacques Gauthier1 agreed to pay an administrative penalty in the amount of $9,000 to the Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF"). He acknowledged that he traded in the securities of AAER based on information that had not been disclosed to the public and that could affect the decision of a reasonable investor, thereby violating section 187 of the Securities Act.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
