Reporting complaints annually - a requirement!
Since the adoption of An Act respecting the Agence nationale d'encadrement du secteur financier (Bill 107), businesses governed by the Act are required to annually report to the AMF the complaints received from consumers of financial products and services.
We wish to remind businesses that have not yet done so that they are required to provide the AMF with a report of complaints received in 2004 by April 1, 2005 or, within two months following the end of their financial year, as stipulated by law.
Since presentation standards for the report have not yet been determined, the AMF will accept reports as compiled by businesses. Businesses that received no complaints in 2004 are also expected to file a report with the AMF.
The person in charge of examining complaints at each business will be receiving a written communication from the AMF on this matter.
