Preventive Measures - Prohibitions relating to Martin Boyer

Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

Montréal - On December 17, 2013, the Bureau de décision et de révision ratified an agreement with Martin Boyer that banned him from carrying on activities as a securities adviser and from trading in securities. He also agreed not to publish any Internet ads encouraging the public to invest with him or his companies.

This matter results from the work of the AMF's cybersurveillance team in connection with three Internet ads published by Martin Boyer. In two of the ads, Martin Boyer encouraged investors to give him trading authority over their brokerage accounts with a minimum investment of $15,000, promising a significant return. In a third ad, he gave investors the opportunity to purchase shares in a company without submitting a prospectus to the AMF for approval.
