December 20, 2013 Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

On December 12, 2013, the Bureau de décision et de révision (the Bureau) allowed the AMF's request in part and imposed a $5,000 penalty on Pierre Dastous, an independent representative in insurance of persons, group insurance of persons and financial planning.

The alleged violations by Pierre Dastous came to light during an inspection conducted by the AMF. These included the presence of signed blank forms and the absence of financial needs analyses and risk profiles in the client files examined.

In its analysis, the Bureau recognized the significance of the violations, but also took into consideration the efforts made by Pierre Dastous since these violations were made known to him.
