Patrick Déry appointed CCIR Chair

Effective April 1, 2015, Patrick Déry, Superintendent, Solvency at the Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF"), will serve as Chair of the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators This link will open in a new window (CCIR) for a two-year term. CCIR is an inter-jurisdictional association of insurance regulators and its mandate is to facilitate and promote an efficient and effective insurance regulatory system in Canada to serve the public interest.
Mr. Déry will in particular steer the deployment of CCIR's new strategic plan, which covers initiatives intended to further harmonize regulations and practices across Canada. They include the implementation of a framework and harmonized program for supervising market conduct as well as collaboration on issues such as telematics, climate changes, travel insurance and oversight of segregated funds and mutual funds.
