The 29th edition of the stock market simulation contest Bourstad This link will open in a new window will be held under the honorary presidency of Nathalie Sirois, Senior Director, Supervision of Insurers and Control of Right to Practise at the AMF and head of the AMF's committee for women's development and leadership.
This year's edition of Bourstad, scheduled for February 8 to April 8, 2016, will benefit from financial assistance from the AMF in the amount of $21,500. As well, the AMF has initiated the launch of three new prizes this year to encourage women to participate in the portfolio management category.
This annual web-based stock market simulation contest is open to high school, CEGEP and university students and members of the general public. Participants manage a virtual portfolio valued at $200,000 by investing in various investment vehicles. Contestants will be sharing over $30,000 in prizes This link will open in a new window.
The AMF and its youth site (Tesaffaires.com This link will open in a new window) have been long-standing partners of Bourstad. This initiative is part of the AMF's mission to promote financial literacy and furthers its Québec Financial Education Strategy.
