Insurance Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders
Montréal - On April 28, 2011, Judge Gaby Dumas, Justice of the Peace of the Court of Québec (Criminal and Penal Division), district of Labelle, ordered Jocelyne Bernier to pay fines totalling $2,000.
The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") had accused Jocelyne Bernier of pursuing activities as a damage insurance representative on four occasions without being duly registered with the AMF.
In December 2010, the AMF took action against Groupe Lyras inc. in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts for allowing Jocelyne Bernier to practice without being registered with the AMF. The firm was fined $15,000.
The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial industry.
