Illegal practice as a dealer and illegal distribution - Denis St-Laurent fined $216,000

Montréal - On April 15, 2013, Justice Denis Mondor of the Court of Québec confirmed the settlement agreement reached by the parties and fined Denis St-Laurent, Vision Denstar inc., DSTL Capital Inc. and 9141-7196 Québec Inc. a total of $504,000.
The Defendants were facing 96 counts primarily for the illegal pursuit of activities as a securities dealer and the illegal distribution of securities.
In this matter, Denis St-Laurent found victims through an on-line dating site where he organized dinners for singles. At the dinners he talked about the various investment projects he was involved in.
From April 2000 to January 2008, around fifteen people invested over $150,000 in shares of Mr. St-Laurent's companies as a result of this strategy. In all, a dozen investors lost a total of $130,600.
