Illegal operation of automated teller machine - Women's wellness center fined $15,000
Money-Services Businesses Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders
Montréal – On November 9, 2016, Judge Claude Leblond of the Court of Québec, district of Montréal, imposed a $15,000 fine on 9181-8773 Québec inc. (operating under the name Women’s Wellness Center). The decision was further to a penal proceeding brought by the Autorité des marchés financiers (the “AMF”) in August 2016.
After 9181-8773 Québec inc. pleaded guilty to one charge of operating an automated teller machine without a licence issued by the AMF, Judge Leblond imposed the minimum fine of $15,000 on the company.
The Autorité des marchés financiers (the “AMF”) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
