Exempt market: Transitioning to electronic filings via SEDAR
Securities Organization
Are you an exempt market filer (EMF) in Québec? Did you know that recent proposed amendments by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) would require exempt market filings currently submitted in paper format with the Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") to be filed electronically via SEDAR This link will open in a new window?
Using SEDAR will provide the following benefits:
-
filings in multiple jurisdictions through one electronic submission;
-
filings of reporting and non-reporting issuers kept in one location under a SEDAR profile;
-
streamlined process for verifying accuracy and completeness of filing records.
Towards a harmonious transition
You can help ensure a harmonious transition to electronic filings for all exempt market participants by responding to a short CSA survey This link will open in a new window no later than August 21.
At the end of the survey, remember to sign up for EMF Updates to keep informed about the status of the proposed amendments and be provided with priority access to training materials.
Consultation: Do you have an opinion about future filings using SEDAR?
The comment period for the CSA proposal ends on August 31, 2015 (Draft Regulation to amend Regulation 13-101 respecting the System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) and Draft Regulation to amend Regulation 13-102 respecting System Fees for SEDAR and NRD ).
