January 20, 2010 Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders Insurance

Montréal – On December 22, 2009, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) handed down a decision revoking the certificate in personal-lines damage insurance held by representative Zaineb Darkaoui.

The AMF revoked Zaineb Darkaoui's certificate because she allegedly misappropriated funds belonging to consumers and therefore no longer has the integrity necessary to pursue activities in damage insurance or any other area of activity regulated by the AMF.

Consumers solicited by Zaineb Darkaoui are urged to contact the AMF Information Centre.

The AMF reminds consumers not to remit cash funds to a representative or write a cheque payable to a representative personally.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
