Assurances Annie Chaussé inc. fined $15,000

Insurance Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

On March 13, 2015, at the request of the Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF"), the Bureau de décision et de révision (the "Bureau") imposed an administrative penalty of $15,000 on Assurances Annie Chaussé inc. and ordered the firm to appoint a new responsible officer.

The Bureau also prohibited Annie Chaussé from directly or indirectly acting as the responsible officer of a firm for two years and cancelled the registration of Daniel Messier Assurance et services financiers.

The AMF argued that Assurances Annie Chaussé inc. and its responsible officer, Annie Chaussé, allowed Daniel Messier, provisionally struck from the roll by the Disciplinary Committee of the Chambre de la sécurité financière on June 8, 2012 regarding an embezzlement allegation, to practice illegally.
