Montréal - The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Déry as Superintendent, Solvency. He will officially take office on February 18, 2013.
In his role as Superintendent, Solvency, Patrick Déry will be responsible for standards and deposit insurance, the supervision of deposit institutions, control of the right to practise and the supervision of insurers.
Patrick Déry returns to the AMF after previously serving as Superintendent, Client Services, Compensation and Distribution from July 2011 to September 2012, during which time he demonstrated strong leadership in the performance of his functions.
Mr. Déry, who holds a master's degree in economics, has extensive management experience having occupied several high-level positions at the Québec Ministry of Finance. In particular, he served as Sous-ministre adjoint aux politiques fédérales-provinciales et financières (Assistant Deputy Minister, Federal-Provincial and Financial Policies).
