Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has launched penal proceedings in the Court of Québec (Criminal and Penal Division), district of Hull, against Liane Thérien.

As part of its proceedings, the AMF filed two charges against Liane Thérien for violating the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services, R.S.Q. c. D-9.2 (the "Act") by acting as a representative in insurance of persons without being registered with the AMF, thereby violating section 12 of the Act.

The AMF is seeking a total fine of $2,000 plus costs with respect to these two charges.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec’s financial sector.
