In seeking to strengthen its role as a local regulator close to its markets, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) wants to better support the industry, particularly in terms of compliance. Better support involves a greater understanding of the reality and needs of firms, independent partnerships and independent representatives.

The AMF will now collect additional data on registrants' practices and relationships with different industry stakeholders. They will be asked for further information:

• in the maintenance of registration form;
• in the Declaration of Officers and Directors or Partners schedule;
• concerning their business relationships.

These changes are detailed in companion documents that will be available under the "Professionals / Firms and representatives" section.

Release of a registrant governance and compliance guide
The AMF will publish a guide in early 2018 explaining the regulatory framework that applies to registrants and including recommended good practices.
