Montréal - The Autorité des marchés financiers ("AMF") cautions Québec consumers about Internet solicitations made by André GauthierThe respondent André Gauthier should not be confused with André Gauthier, an independent representative in insurance of persons who holds certificate No. 113 946 nor with André Gauthier, damage insurance broker attached to Groupe Cyr et Lyras Inc., who holds certificate No. 159 218. and 9131-7156 Québec inc., also known as Molecule6 ("Molecule"), urging derivatives transactions with Dukascopy.
Via the Molecule website and interventions in various discussion forums, André Gauthier and Molecule are soliciting investors from Québec and abroad for the purpose of carrying out transactions in derivatives with Dukascopy using the website at molecule6.com.
Neither André Gauthier, Molecule nor Dukascopy is registered with the AMF. They are therefore not authorized to solicit Québec consumers for the purpose of investments in derivatives.
To ensure compliance with the law and protect the public, the AMF has asked the Bureau de décision et de révision (the "Bureau") to issue orders for the parties concerned to cease pursuing activities as a derivatives dealer and to cease any activity in respect of a transaction in derivations, including solicitations, an order to remove the ads it posted on the Internet as well as an order to shut down the Molecule website. The AMF has also asked the Bureau to impose administrative penalties against André Gauthier.
The ads were uncovered through AMF cyber-surveillance. If you notice similar ads or believe you have been targeted by similar offers, contact the AMF Information Centre.
The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
