Renée Roy ordered to pay $60,000 administrative penalty

Montréal - On March 27, 2015, the Bureau de décision et de révision (the "Bureau") ordered Renée RoyThe respondent should not be confused with Renée Roy, certificate No. 195016, who holds a certificate in the personal-lines damage insurance sector with the firm Alpha, Compagnies d'assurances inc. to pay a $60,000 administrative penalty for breaching sections 187 and 189 of the Securities Act.

Ms. Roy traded in securities of a reporting issuer using privileged information, earning her a profit of $30,570.

In its decision, the Bureau took into account the seriousness of the breach, the fact that the actions were intentional, the profit earned and the damage caused to the integrity of the financial markets.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
