Insurance Decisions and Freeze and cease trade orders

Montréal – The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has imposed a fine on Jean-Marc Sansfaçon in the amount of $5,000 for failing to respond to requests from AMF Inspection. The penalty was imposed pursuant to sections 115 and 117 of the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services.

Mr. Sansfaçon is registered with the AMF for the purpose of acting as an independent representative in insurance of persons and is therefore governed by the Act.

Further to an off-site inspection, the AMF requested that Mr. Sansfaçon furnish certain information and provide explanations so as to complete an analysis of his file. Despite numerous follow-up actions by the AMF, Mr. Sansfaçon did not respond to its requests.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial sector.
