Montréal - On March 8, 2012, Judge Nathalie DuPerron Roy, Justice of the Peace, sitting in the Court of Québec, district of Laval, ordered Simon Déry to pay fines totalling $42,000. He was found guilty on 14 charges filed by the Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) in March 2008 for pursuing an illegal practice and aiding with illegal distributions.

More specifically, Simon Déry was found guilty of aiding 9122-1341 Québec inc., operating under the name Groupe ADA, with illegal distributions on seven occasions. He was also found guilty on seven additional charges for acting illegally as a securities dealer.

In this matter, five investors, who were fairly close to Simon Déry and with whom strong bonds of trust had been established, suffered losses totalling $110,000. Simon Déry promised them interest rates ranging from 0.75% to 3% per month.

This is not Simon Déry's first altercation with the AMF. He faces another penal proceeding launched in February 2012 in the matter of Hippocampe for similar violations. He has also been ordered to cease any activity in respect of a transaction in securities since March 2011.
