Montréal - The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) has launched proceedings in the judicial district of Roberval against André Bouchard1 and filed 25 charges against him. It is seeking fines totalling $244,000. The AMF has accused him of acting illegally as a securities dealer and aiding in making distributions without a prospectus.
The alleged facts took place between February 2002 and February 2004. André Bouchard acted as an intermediary in respect of investments in various companies and firms for a total of $425,000. Investors lost almost the entire amount.
The Autorité des marchés financiers (the AMF) is the regulatory and oversight body for Québec's financial industry.
