Extension of freeze and cease trade orders against Imran Shahid and Kamran Shahid

Montréal – On November 17, 2016, the Tribunal administratif des marchés financiers (the “Tribunal”) extended, for a 120-day period, the freeze and cease trade orders it issued against Imran Shahid and Kamran Shahid on December 15, 2015.

Specifically, the Tribunal ordered Imran Shahid, Kamran Shahid and the companies 9322-5746 Québec inc. and 7267711 Canada inc. not to dispose, directly or indirectly, of the funds, securities or other assets that are in their possession or custody and not to withdraw or appropriate funds, securities or other assets from any other person that has them on deposit, under control or in safekeeping for them.

The Tribunal also ordered a number of financial institutions as well as any person on whom the decision will be served not to dispose of the funds, securities or other assets that they have on deposit in any account or safe deposit box in the name of Imran Shahid, Kamran Shahid or the companies 9322-5746 Québec inc. and 7267711 Canada inc.

The clients of Kamran and Imran Shahid could be eligible for compensation from the Fonds d’indemnisation des services financiers (financial services compensation fund).
